Defining and introducing process indicators

KPI in process management – get to know your processes

Are the process results and the performance of your processes transparent?

You probably know this: information and figures are abundant in your company. But what about meaningful information on your processes and their performance?

Often only general key figures or benchmarks are used, which are very limited in their informative value. Looking at a company-wide process model, it becomes clear that there are blind spots in many companies. With a structured key performance indicator concept for processes, you can successfully eliminate these weaknesses in control.

The added value of defining and introducing process indicators

  • Make the need for information transparent via defined process objectives and requirements.
  • Achieve measurable process goals.
  • Avoid one-sided control by including all types of process indicators (e.g., focus only on performance quality without including costs).
  • Make customer reference transparent via process indicators.
  • Recognize the need for action more quickly through process-oriented reporting using deviations between target and actual values.
  • Process KPIs as the basis for service level agreements (SLAs).

Actively manage all processes with key process indicators

Don’t just document processes from the outset but use them as an active management tool. This also includes the use of focused process KPIs, including process cost information based on actual values.

Our offer for you

We support you in the development and introduction of process-orientated reporting based on process indicators.

To do this, we use our `process indicator compass´. Based on the existing process indicators, we check how these can be designed for individual processes in the context of a company-wide process model. We keep an eye on how the management requirements of the BPM roles can be enhanced.

We also support you in deriving the right process indicators. The `process indicator compass´ helps to determine the control direction (effectiveness, efficiency, stability, compliance) and to select the measurement of the process in the appropriate measurement dimension (time, quantity, value, or quality). We are also happy to assist you from setting up a reporting system to introducing and working with process indicators in your day-to-day work. On this basis, we can also identify starting points for the overall optimization of work with key performance indicators.
