When an ERP project becomes the starting point for holistic change
What to do when a system change means much more than just new software? The Remmers Group – a leader in construction chemicals and wood finishing – was faced with the challenge of future-proofing its ERP systems. However, it quickly became clear that a purely technological migration to SAP S/4HANA® would not meet the demand for sustainable change.
Together with BPM&O, Remmers opted for an innovative approach – and turned the IT project into a far-reaching transformation of the entire process landscape.
Implementing strategy through processes
The key to success: process orientation instead of a focus on technology. With the TranS/4mate Remmers project, the company established a holistic change project – strategically set up, with clear structures and broad participation. BPM&O not only provided methodological support, but also a deep understanding of the organizational and cultural dimensions of change.
What made the difference?
- Involvement instead of top-down: specialist departments, managers and key personnel were actively involved at an early stage.
- Structured thinking: A comprehensive process house with an end-to-end view was developed – the basis for all target processes.
- Consistently implemented: The introduction of SAP S/4HANA® at the pilot site in Hiddenhausen was the first milestone – successful, practical and sustainable.
- Making processes measurable: Clear process objectives were defined and linked to the strategy – for continuous improvement.
Why BPM&O?
Because we think transformation holistically.
Our approach combines strategy, processes, IT and people. Our collaboration with Remmers has shown once again that if you want to shape change sustainably, you need more than just technology – you need well thought-out process management and an experienced partner at your side.
