Process automation means that defined processes which control the flow of goods, information and values are carried out by machines or IT systems. The advantage of this is the reduced use of human resources in processes and workflows without manual intervention, except in the steps intended for this purpose. In many companies, production and logistics processes are already partially or almost completely automated.
