With the use of management systems, existing requirements for a company are subjected to targeted control. Common requirements relate, for example, to quality, the environment, safety, or the management of risks. Key components are agreed objectives and guidelines, processes, organizational regulations, documents, tools, and measures to achieve the relevant objectives. The scope thus ranges from strategic (e.g. risk management) to operational management systems (e.g. resource management). Management systems that cover several of these aspects are referred to as integrated management systems.
